UK Weather: Flash flooding hits London after weeks of heatwaves

Commuters have been forced to wade through ankle-deep water after Victoria Station flooded in heavy rain.

As thunderstorms struck London on Wednesday afternoon and the skies opened, some parts of the capital have been hit by flooding.

Video footage shows people wading through a large puddle at the entrance to Victoria, while a stream runs across the ground of the main station concourse.

It comes after the Met Office warned homes in the capital and the south east are at risk of flooding following the recent drought.

i think most are missing the point here, many business properties became flooded, lots of people lost money and their business disrupted for however long. If "its just a bit of rain" go home, turn all your taps on full and go out for a couple of imagine owning a business, lots of stock was damaged or lost entirely, electric blown, now you lost income and now you have to spend 1 or 2k to unflood your property.... but hey, just a bit of rain lol.

Yes, i was there when there was the flood. It was so terrifying. And the worst part was, my aunty was out there! Luckily she survived.

The 10 hottest temperatures recorded in the UK (in 200+ years) only one is before 1990. 7 are in the last 20 years. Three are in the last three years. This has been the driest year since 1961. But in 1961 they hadn’t already had a run of dry years in big tracts of the country. Half of the UK's potato crop is thought to be kyboshed. What’s normal about that?
