The thing that amazes me is how TALL almost all the musicians on the stage are. Usually When Russel Allen or Floor Janses are on stage they dwarf any other people, yet here they all are standing equal both in musical skill AND physical height. It's funny and wholesome at the same time.

So many memories. Saw that tour live in Aschaffenburg, Germany nearly 21 years ago. My former girl friend dragged me to the show, didn't know much about the band at that point. Man, what did it know? Got a crush on Arjen's music from this point onwards and it was a defining experience. Saw the Ayreon Universe in 2017 as well as the Electric Castle Live in 2019 and just returned from the 01011001 - Live beneath the waves weekend in Tilburg 2 days ago. What a blast. As much as production quality has advanced in those 20 years, still impressive, what they did back then with such an unpretentious setup. Still gives me goosebumps.

FORMIDABLE!!! So funny to explore the roots of the Ayreon musics. This is where it all began. The Jansen sisters, Robert Soetenbroek, Sir Russell Allen, a young looking Damian Wilson, the veteran Peter on base and lbnl his excellency Arjen Anthony Lucassen himself on solo guitar.

This music, these performances are sublime. Yet I have to say, this video contains some of the DORKIEST dancing/moving I've ever seen in my life, and since I have a mirror, that's saying something. My goodness.

Its been over 10 years now, maybe closer to 15. This album was a life changer for me - got a bachlors degree in performing arts 'cause of it, learned nothing like it. Still gives me shivers after I had to listen and perform old masters pieces like Bach. This album is a Masterpiece, I'm glad that I've downloaded it on a ftp server, remember those? XD

Omg, i remember i was at this concert. Damia Wilson was climbing around at some point. We were standing somewhere far right in the middle of the venue when all off a sudden i feel somebody tapping my shoulder. When i turned around Damian was standing above me and asked me if he could jump on my neck. I said sure, thinking he said jump on your "back". I remember almost falling face front when Damian jumped on my neck, but i managed to carry him all the way to the stage, where i managed to see the last part all in front :)
After we had a meet and greet with the band. Best concert experience ever!

I love this so much, I plunked down a tidy sum to get a still-in-the-shrink-wrap copy of this out of print, DVD/CD set. Totally worth it!

I have been listening to Arjen's artwork since the age of 11, I am now 26 and I still love every single song. I play guitar to most and have made it a life goal to play as many as I can. Ayreon helped me grow as a boy and make better decisions than one normally would. Helped me tune into the universe and myself ofcourse. Lots of love and respect for the best musician in the world.
