This is bloody brilliant. Love the pedestrian interaction: slow down to a craw the proceed when the kids clearly were getting out of the way. It was able to anticipate that they did not intend to move into the car's path.

I drove part of that same drive in Berkeley Hills the other day. Watching your video, my chest was tight again, waiting for someone to step out or another car to try to take the very narrow part of the road. FSD did at least as good as I did, so I am very impressed. Thanks for posting this.

You can see what the Vision Team were talking about at AI Day at 5:38 in this video. They were talking about planning and knowing when to yield. You could see the cautionary response when that car suddenly appeared. This is awesome. It is also backing up another statement that was made in response to a question about other regions in the world. The statement was, we are teaching it to drive anywhere. The Berkeley Hills are not typical of roads in CA, but they are similar to roads all over Europe, narrower and meandering. This type of decision making will be called upon quite frequently.

Next time you're in the area (Berkeley/Oakland), I'd love to see how FSD handles Telegraph Ave between 51st and 40th, especially taking some right turns given how messy it is and several human drivers hitting the cones even.

This is a much closer approximation to what the majority of roads in the UK are like compared to most FSD videos I've seen where people are just driving on huge, well marked, divided roads with absolutely no parked vehicles anywhere. I'd love to see what it does when traffic is coming the other way at the pinch points. Maybe you could take a friend with you in another vehicle and do a few tests?

I enjoy the commentary and edits of other videos, but I also enjoy an uncut video with your excellent overlay such as this. So if you ever don't want to or don't have time to do cuts/commentary, this is a great option!

As for the video itself, it's great to watch this now after AI Day knowing much more of the details about the effort that goes into perception and path planning. The future is bright for FSD!

Looking forward to another video and I'll check out your other channel in the mean time.

After watching tesla ai day I now appreciate the hard work these ppl are putting into this and appreciate every mistake they make it's really hard .
