For ammonia powered ships of the future, an optimization of the combustion process is crucial.

In our collaboration with the IFKM (KIT), the Background Oriented Schlieren (BOS) imaging technique was applied to diagnose ammonia fuel injection. This is an essential step to maximize efficiency and minimize risks, preparing the way for a sustainable future in maritime transport.
