My Dad was about 5’4” my Mom 5’3” and I was about 5’2” full grown. A loving hard working man like my Dad trumped whatever he might have lacked in height in this world. He was a big influence on his kids and my kids, he even took care of (along with my Mom) and helped raise my 1/2 sisters kids (his no blood relation Grandkids). Oh and he loved my Mom like crazy. He would joke around and try to cheer you if you were beaten down by the world, and shake your hand when you figured out a large problem on your own. His unselfish love made me turn around and try to be like him, so when he was 82 I painted his house both inside and out, redid and landscaped their plants and then we worked on their kitchen together, all so one day they could sell it and he could retire ( that was at 84.) To love and be loved fully is what matters more than your height and leaving that and an amazing smile in the memories of those who loved you matters in the end way more than height. My Mother even sick herself cared for him till his death at 93 of ALZ, then I cared for her. A legacy of love in the end is what matters.

Sad..bcz society makes short men feel like they are lacking...this Is sad

This is crazy! People need to stop, critisizing others for their physical characterics, it really hurts people emotionally, and leads many to risk their health, sometimes their lives, to achieve what others perceive as beautiful. 😢

Every 5 centimeters gained in height decreases risk of suicide by 9%, per a Swedish study of 1, 654, 668 men born 1950–1981.

Most of these comments are gonna be made by women, whom I suspect dont quite realize the negative effects being short can have as a man. I'll just spell it out: people in general and women especially sometimes treat short men very poorly.

I still think leg lengthening is a bad idea, but I can understand why they do it.

Don't judge him you have no idea what he went through you have no right to judge him for what he chose to do it doesn't affect you

Good for him doing what makes him feel better!! A blessing that he had $150k to do what he wants. Women are spending way more than that for bbl's, boobs & face lifts. Every surgery could lead to complications of pain and infection. That young man didnt ask me for 1 penny...i dont care what he did with his money when he didnt do anything criminal or to harm anyone!

I’m a 5’2 male, I’d do it to be 5’8 💯
150k < a lifetime of clothing alterations because you’re actually a kids size, and kids clothes suck.

This what we call insecurity and someone who needs actual mental help. We all go through it but if your doing this kind of harm to yourself it’s next level

I say, to each his own. As long as he's happy, healthy and responsible, what he chooses to do to his body in order to feel better about himself, is worth it.

Yikes. Maybe he could have just worked on his self esteem instead.
Tells you a lot about certain Dr.’s. and what they are willing to do for money.
But at the same time, it’s his life, body, money and choice.

Worth it imo. Some of the short men I've known throughout my life were very, very touchy about it. One always wore cowboy boots with tall heels, and lift inserts. He was overly confident in all other respects, but if a stranger mentioned his height he'd snap! If such an extreme surgery can help someone avoid a lifetime of dealing with one nagging insecurity, then it's not our place to judge them for it.

This is the equivalent of the extreme makeovers that used to be on TV. I find it very fascinating to watch these men's stories, this is the third or fourth person I've heard of who has gotten this procedure.

It's very, very sad his insecurity of height.
No matter what, ,,there will ALWAYS be someone taller than you, more fit than you, healthier than you, smarter than you, wealthier than you, funnier than you, better hair than you, better skin than you, more athletic than you, etc...etc. life's too short. No pun intended lol.

It may not be a matter of ego, but people humiliating him, because of his height 5' 6, " is considered short for a man..in some social settings.I don't know the circumstances, but people can be very cruel ! I used to tell my friend from Argentina, how handsome he was, he looked like Andy Garcia, he was 5' 5" but he would always say he was too short, women like taller men...look at Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, Tom Cruise, Robert Radford, all shorter stature but very confident in their sexuality and attractiveness.I wish this young man well, and much happiness! To each his own!! However, I hope he learns from all he has gone through that in the end, it is the heart, character, kindness and compassion that matters 🌹

Crazy, he'll never be able to do any form of athletic activity ever again. So not worth it.
