I knew Herb we talked over the phone the day before he passed away. It's Trim-pe. I was shocked and sad when I heard he had passed away, He used to come to Oshkosh, WI to go the FAA air shows every July/Aug. He owned his own plane years ago too. He actually called me very excited about getting a check for like $250, 000 approx. From the fan who owned and sold the end pg from Incredible Hulk #180. The very first cameo of the Wolverine. It sold for like $600 plus dollars on the Heritage Auction house. Sadly he never got to buy that new house he told me about. He was going to move south to a warm climate. The fan who originally bought from Herb decades before. Probably paid $25-$50 for it in 75 or 76. At a comic con up in the NY area back then. When he sold it he gave half to Herb after the taxes/Heritage's % was taken out. The other half, since the inker had passed away. I don't think he had any children. Was donated to the charity foe retired comic pros. For medical expenses, etc I guess.

MCP was on my pull list at my LCS back in the day (1991). When I started grading my collection in 2020-21 I sent in #72 for the obvious reasons. But my sense was to throw in #79 also. Good decision. They both came back as 9.8s. The CGC census for #79 at 9.8 is very low – under 75 right now so that issue does command some value, usually more than #72 for which there are over 1500 9.8s. Right now I don’t even see ANY #79s on Ebay for sale in 9.8. What does that tell you? I actually never had a chance to read the run as it was being published so just a month or so ago I finally did that (online). Are you coming to KingKon in March?

I have marvel comics presents 72 and 75 raw I think I could get a 9.8 for 72 not sure about 75 though
