Sources for this decision:

Hey guys in this video I'm going to be breaking down the impact of The SAT Subject Test being cancelled and what does this move from College Board mean for you - as high school students, international students, and aspiring college applicants applying abroad.

Without a doubt, this is a move taken to divert the college board's efforts onto the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) examinations. It's a primarily economic decision, but fortunately, it's also one step closer to reducing the number of hurdles college applicants face while applying. It's well known Standardized Testing perpetuates the systemic inequality in the college application process, and this should take away from it. However, as an international student from India, I do see this move increasing pressure on high school students and pushing kids to take APs - in a country where most schools don't even take the subject.

For a student who's trying to fund her college app on her own and can't afford to take 14 AP tests, this is sad.

Sometimes I literally feel like that college board doesn't really pay much attention to Indian students
I gave my PSAT in 9th and the results took around 8 months to be declared 😬

I feel like realistically, despite the points made in the video, dropping the SAT Subject Tests has only created more barriers than removing them - at least for internationals. Overall, everyone would be forced to choose between taking or not taking the APs - which would further create more divide between students that can get adequate tutoring versus those who would have to study on their own for the most part. Also, for countries in the subcontinent (I myself am from Bangladesh), there are already national exams or other boards like IB or A-levels to worry about, and APs have just been added to the list for one to at least get an edge compared to US applicants. Funny thing is some colleges (e.g. Harvard) have phased out extra credit from APs anyways, so they are only useful as prerequisites for some courses at best.

this is so true.. international students applying to the USA are going to face even more difficulty now as students are going to be involved in more extra curricular activities than before to help distinguish themselves from the crowd and international students will also have to prepare for the AP exams on their own as unlike USA where students have AP classes in schools, School curriculums in India do not offer such services and teach their curriculum not the US

I really like the indian Accent the is used in the English Language.
In a manner it is the modular way to judge all students on a fair and linear factor for College students all over the Globe.

The SAT 2 was a very good exam and I took my own test In June 2001.
I got excellent results like 500 in writing World History 730 French 800.
The subjects tests were quite cool especially the Math and Science subjects for placement into Colleges and Universities.
The SAT Subject Tests In Math Level 1C Math Level2C was the key factor for the selective Engineering Colleges in America Canada and other Countries like Australia and New Zealand.
