Its a great and remarkable initiative but you should have given more information about how it works out in detail. Otherwise it will be a doubtful concept.

Are there any other micronutrients that can be added to the dot so we can prevent many diseases all at the same time? That and wouldn't binding the iodine with an oil or less volatile solvent prevent evaporation? This is such an obvious winner, we should look at other adornments for Asian and African women and men to help prevent disease. For instance nutritionally infused hennas, for temporary tattoos that also prevent illness? Lotions and skin creams with nutrition? Perhaps even patched on the insides of rings or other jewelry that make skin contact.

Simply brilliant. I love elegant solutions to persistent problems. We can all make the world a better place every day!

If I remember earlier research on this... Iodine deficiency is a HUGE problem in much of Asia, resulting in significanly LESS INTELLIGENCE for a large percentage of the population. Second generation deficiency causes mongoloidism.  The National Organization of Health has been trying to iodize salt, but... people resist, in the same way fluoride is resisted in the U.S. - fear that it is a toxin being forced on them.  Sometimes I think this is another reason for the misunderstanding between cultures which seems to cause so many problems.  Sure hope this patch catches on!
