I know it was a shorter video than usual but the structure and production on this was really good

Very interesting nugget if information causing discussion too. Nothing in this game in obvious and three minuters like this can sort it al out. I am in the middle of watching a rerun of your twitch Liverpool Milan Champions League semi, a great watch.

I normally use low tempo when I want to keep the ball for longer periods. It's a great defensive strategy because it makes it hard for the opposition to retrieve the ball especially when combined with a lower mentality IMO. What I also do is change up the duties and even roles on my tactic during a match so that there are way more support duties and players coming deep to get the ball. I use this idea when I have a lead I want to preserve, and occasionally it even results in scoring another goal. With that way of playing my goal is to keep the ball and don't even try to attack, to the point that I even have 2 false nine strikers and no attack duty on my team at all. And if the opposition gets it, I have my men behind the ball, staying on their feet for tackles so not giving any fouls away in dangerous areas. I also like to combine these ideas with raising my defensive line a notch, adding the offside trap and keeping my width balanced so there's less time for the opposition to play if we lose it and my guys will play the ball into whichever area provides most relief.

I'm also telling them to retain possession and my keeper is told to slow the pace down, and at the end, take a breather on a defensive mentality.

I love playing lower tempo, but teams insist on pressing me relentlessly and I don't have the quality to hold on to the ball and draw out the press. I boost the tempo as a last resort when I see we just can't get in their final third at all.
I used to think lowering tempo instantly meant more posession, but if there is no width, or they're pressing you harder than you can handle, there won't be any on any tempo.

What the best way to play higher tempo and ensure you keep the ball. Do you need a target man or high press to make it work?

I love your videos man.. Because in most of your videos, you are using a team that really needs help, not man utd, dortmund, ajax etc that have a high win rate regardless of how u manage

love your videos dude!! just a small request: can you try to replicate the Total Football/Pep's Man City system in your upcoming low tempo tactics?

hello, i am in my 10th season on fm 20 with manchester united, my strikers don't score many goals. my wingers have scored goals and are in double digits but my strikers struggle. I used geggenpress for last 9 season but this season I am using tiki taka. i have destroyed teams. soring at least 5 goals once in a month but my strikers struggle to get the ball. also I don't use work the ball into the box and is one of the reason why I have scored this many goals. also can you help me with setting up training?

Surely low tempo is worse for a team trying to break down low block as it moves the ball less quickly thus allowing the opposition to get back into position before you can make an effective pass? If you want your attackers to get into the right positions, wouldn't it be better to change duties/mentality or position them higher?

If brute force isn't working, you're not using enough.
