Buckshot Roulette was a game that EXPLODED on YouTube over the past few months. Everyone from 8BitRyan, Dawko, and even Markiplier played this game extensively, and while what initially drew people in was the crazy, high-stakes gameplay... what really piqued my interest was the LORE. More specifically the unsolved ARG surrounding the game. Can we solve it together? Let's find out...

Y'know what'd be funny?
If the password was some generic password like "Password123!" and we've all been overthinking it.

The dev of this game is Estonian. Koni is a word for a cigarette in Estonian, which immediately makes me think about the smoker on the catwalk. No idea if this is helpful. There is also the fact that in the game you can see a lot of Estonian writing on items, so trying to use Estonian language translations of already found clues could lead to something. Oh and the Bible was the first ever text written/translated in Estonian.

I'm sure someone must have mentioned this, but, in old Linux stuff, "!" at the beginning of a line sometimes indicates that the text that follows is a command that is to be run by a command interpreter. And "cat <filename>" is the old Unix/Linux command to write a file to a screen. Taken together, "!cat <filename>" at some prompt might imply sending the contents of a file to the screen.

Friendly reminder that the Inferno and the rest of the Divine Comedy was written in the commoners Venitian Italian not Latin. The work is notable in literary history because it made Italian a literary language. Hope this helps in some way!

When an ARG blasts off, the community splits into two different categories:
1. Lore solving fans
2. Casual gameplay enjoyers

17:25 Wait that might be a clue itself. Kittens that are in fiction are supposed to have 9 lives.

This man turned a joke into a series with hope, despair, loss and hype. He deserves every bit of recognition he has and even beyond that

"Two Chronicles" instead of "Second Chronicles" at 11:51 is hilarious 😂

Could it partially have something to do with the player character from Carbon Steel? It was confirmed that the poem isn't a poem but a "What am I?" riddle. In that sense the first line "(1) they won't ever forgive me or will i not forgive myself. i made a wish upon a falling star and it brought me nothing but misery." would refer to the player realeasing the monsters that killed and forced them into 'the shutdown'. The wish would make most sense referring to the players wish to earn a years worth of money in the three days of working in the facility. "(2) the machine hungers" while it is a bit of a stretch to say that its the machine used to pull creatures up from the pit it could also mean..."(3) fed by booming shots" In this instance instead of a loud noise booming would have to mean the forceful/powerful or crazy high amounts of anesthesia used to knock the creatures out during testing. After this I started drawing blanks and couldn't come up with anything for lines 4-9. If this makes any sense please lmk because everything else I've come up with like "slot machine", "war" "gambling" has already been tried as the password and did not work.

If you listen carefully, you can hear a defibrillator going off when you take the shot, it's more noticeable when you finish the dealer for that round

Hmm a spider like creature with a round face... I think the dealer is some sort of train

idk why but i have a feeling its all the games that feel connected combined into 1 password, and the earliest game goes first, like if this game is released earlier, it will be at first in the password, you can try underscores, spaces and whatever.

It's just interesting someone hasn't spoiled the fun by just letting a bot go through every possible combination possible to brute force it

This will probably get buried, but I find it interesting that the white shadows in the Koni Äriksön bubble (the blue one under the phone advert) seem different from the words they are supposed to be shadowing (while trying to highlight it, I found that the words seem to be Volta Aricson (not mispelled)).
I would also recommend seeing if anything comes from the favicon, though it seems to just be "$$".
(I would like to be at least mentioned as the spotter if anything comes of this)

(Edit: Looking at the failed passwords, it seems this Aricson tidbit was found already)

I'm not sure if this has been thought about yet or not, but apparently, Sony Ericsson phones used to have secret menus you could access. Not sure if this would translate to the game/website phone or password, though. In order to access the secret menu and mobile software version, you'd have to hit the arrow keys and the Asterix button in a specific order (right, *, left, left, *, left, *). There were other codes and menus besides this one. Sorry if this isn't helpful.

“It makes sense for him to be a machine of some sort”
So… he’s a robot?
This will go well

Note that some of the letters at 0:37 are darker than the others.
