iOS 17: How to Add Someone to Group Message on iPhone

This video will show you how to add someone to a group message on iPhone in iOS 17. Once you complete this tutorial, you will have added a new person to one of your iPhone group texts.

You can add someone to an iPhone group message with the following steps:

1. Open Messages.
2. Select the group message.
3. Tap the group message name at the top of the screen.
4. Select the Contacts button that lists the members.
5. Touch the Add Contact button.
6. Add the contact to the “To” field, then tap Done.

Note that you can only add someone to a group message that already has at least three members.

Additionally, you can only add group members if everyone in the message is using iMessage on an Apple device. Otherwise, this will create a new group message instead.

The steps in this guide were performed on an iPhone 14 in the iOS 17 operating system, but work on many other iPhone models as well, such as the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 15.
