Intellivision Amico Controller is a GAME CHANGER!

The intellivision Amico remote controller for the console is unique, but just how special is it? I had the chance to play the latest games HANDS ON and can confidently say - this thing is an incredible piece of tech!

I am not against the Amico, it's just that for $299 you can get an Xbox series s. I don't know that unless someone has money to burn that the Amico will catch on with most people.

My experience exactly. After just a few minutes you realize the controller is different, but good. Precise, well built, perfect for the games you are playing (because they are literally built for it). People are going to be buying extra Amico controllers even though you can use a phone app for free. Not because the phone app is bad, but because the controller is so good

NO. Lord no. For certain games designed around having a disc, sure maybe, but for games that need a D pad this will be terrible. There is too much travel from left to right and up to down. It is why I use D pad for shmups or retro style platformers etc, basicly, any game that does not REQUIRE an analog stick is best with D pad. But specialm games designed for disk, maybe games like Gyrus tempest, or maybe even breaklout style games circling around the edge to move maybe? Could work. But this is INtellivision and the disc was the worst ever and this is based on that I guess.

Im very skeptical but I do believe it will be a big enough success for the investors which is just to sell probably 500k units.

I’m gonna write on here what I probably would’ve wrote on the last video I watched from you. I don’t care if the controller was made by God himself. No controller ever really sold a system. And people might say what about the Wii ? Yeah those things are dirt cheap and easy to find and manufacture and are very low tech. The controller being more high-tech is not an asset it’s a liability if anything. On the other hand I’m also glad that Tommy is working on quality control. I’ll be honest I feel like I didn’t really learn anything new about The console over these last couple videos. At the end of the day all that matters is games. I’d rather hear about groundbreaking Games, what is the killer app for this thing ? And some people might look at this and be like, yoUrE jUsT haTer, and if I am who the hell cares?, that doesn’t explain away any of this. Also I hope you put hater as one of your tags because I think you mentioned it more than you actually mentioned the Amico. I can’t stand the narrative that if you don’t defend the Amico then you are a hater and if you do defend it you’re a shill . I feel like narrative about there being a lot of Amico haters is such hyperbole. It’s a good narrative to have though, so many successful things have some type of reactionary counter movement. Most of the people watching this video we’re going to be excited regardless, and I’m happy for them. I think it’ll come out I think it’ll be a thing. Whether it will be successful, The market will decide.

The world in general has really become so jaded about everything in life including gaming. It's really a sad state of affairs. I for one will grab one because not everything gaming has to be blood and guts adult content with swearing and shooting. I love the family side of gaming, puzzle games and simple platforming adventures just as much as the latest Triple A title. I wish @TommyTallarico and the whole Amico team the very best..!

If there is no lag, what is the explanation for the lag int he video? I am genuinely asking. Is it that it had lag but now it was fixed? Is it thjat the video shjowing lagf was out of sync and was not actualy laggy? Or is it just that your eyes did not detecxt the lag but the lag is still there? There has got to be a better explanation besides haters gotta hate and it has no lag. Has it been lag tested with a hardware lag tester so we got actual numbers? I'd like to konw this before i decide to spend my cash or not.

I'm getting this Day 1. I am 28 and have played retro exclusively for a number of years. I tried going back to modern with a Xbox One X and it collects dust as I play GameCube games and older. I don't have the time or interest with modern games anymore. Microtransactions, dlc, patches, 100 GB installs, long tutorials, massive worlds, etc. The Amico is a family and retro console combined. New retro games like Intellevison classics remade with modern technology and new games entirely like EarthWorm Jim 4. This appeals to me. $250 isn't unreasonable and the games are $1- $10 each anyway.

I felt that with my time with it it felt great and after seeing how it's designed I feel the disk inner hardware could replace the analog stick. And knowing how it works I don't personally feel it could ever get drift problems and there's less parts to fail. Anyway we'll done SmashJt love your content
