Moto X Hammer & Knife Scratch Test

I test the durability of the Moto X by doing a scratch test with a key and knife, then test the screen by slamming it with a hammer to see if it can handle some force without cracking. Does Motorola's "Magic Glass" and plastic case hold up? Watch the video to find out!

OMG, that was so hard to watch.... All I could think of was why someone would do that to a phone. But that was great  just purchased one should be arriving in the mail soon so now I figure the screen is good all I will need is a case for the back. Thanks! Have a Happy New Year!

I have the moto x and the battery life is awesome. I personally love it. Not a scratch and I've had it for about 6 months

I've had the MotoX since christmas, I still love it. I keep my case on it so it is in perfect condition. It defiantly is a way better phone then the DroidRzr that I had previously.

The screen is made out of glass (which is essentially melted sand). On the hardness scale, anything that has an equal or greater value than another object will scratch it when rubbed together. This is why sand will scratch glass almost every time. I simplified the situation a bit, as there are other small factors, but that's the gist of it.

I was around picking a phone recently and the sales came up to me dropped this phone about 20+ times infront of me, and It was still working perfectly fine with minimal scratches.

It's to simulate the extreme conditions. The hammer test is for when you step on your phone, or sit on it when it's on your back pocket.

I don't think keys in your pocket are really a problem for a phone nowadays, I think sand and dust and grit cause more screen problems than anything.
