Dutch Oven Cooking Mountain Man Breakfast

Показать описание
This is breakfast we made in our 8qt dutch oven while at Fool Hollow Lake, near Show Low, Arizona. Made with ground sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers, eggs & cheese.
This is an easy recipe.
A Dutch oven is a thick-walled (usually cast iron but also ceramic and clay) cooking pot with a tight-fitting lid. Dutch ovens have been used as cooking vessels for hundreds of years. They are called casserole dishes in English speaking countries other than the United States ("casserole" means "pot" in French), and cocottes in French. They are similar to both the Japanese tetsunabe and the Sač, a traditional Balkan cast-iron oven, and are related to the South African Potjie and the Australian Bedourie oven.

Great recipe and pre-made, too! Definitely on my list when camping season arrives!

At 1:50 granny sounds like she's trying to get into a donnybrook with your buddy..lol And at 2:38 girl is doing what they do best...buzz kill.

I think you did a terrific job here, Chris. I'll be making this during my annual spring walleye trip. Thanks for sharing!

What's with all the critical comments?? This looks like a wonderful quick n' easy recipe. Yes, if you want perfect taste than spend time defrosting and cutting up all the fresh veggies, by all means. And the guy was stirring "a lot" because he was breaking down the big frozen chunks. Sheesh.

to save on dishes, you can scoop it into tortillas, and have breakfast burritos! :)

Frozen pre- made hash browns are ok, but would be better with fresh onions and potatoes chopped and cooked in the sausage grease.

@IrishLincoln It seems they were using it more as a frying pan so it doesn't matter. Just saying....
