Such a great class! And straight to the point

Here's how I did it:

1. Speak "Wid" with a normal D sound;
2. Now do it again with your tongue between your incisors;
3. Do it again and quickly follow up with accumulating air pressure between the tongue and the back of the incisors. You'll feel you're halfway there;
4. Finally, as you keep that air pressure going, pull your tongue back and let the air escape.

"Breadth" and "width" are a pain in the neck for me. I can't make them sound like you do, but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the help, and it's a very helpful lesson!

Very instructive, because I thought "with" and "width" were pronounced the same way. That "dth" sound makes me crazy... Thank you, Jennifer.

I just noticed that even the auto-generated English subtitles can't distinguish between "breath" and "breadth"...

I can pronounce them in mind, but I have a little trouble pronouncing them by mouth.

i think it might be helpful just imagine that when you pronounce the TH sound, you just reach out your tongue, whereas you just "bite" your tongue(not really, just touch your upper teeth on your tongue), and stop the air a little bit to pronounce the D sound, and pull back your tongue to pronounce the TH.

My english teacher back in elementary teaches us that "With" must be pronounce as "wid", same goes to "width". thanks for this by the way.
