UPM's wood-based biochemicals offer the first-ever solution eliminating two weaknesses of existing bioplastics. Firstly, we produce them from responsibly sourced biomass grown outside of the food value chain. Secondly, sustainably managed forests also serve as carbon sinks, meaning that the wood taken from them produces zero carbon emissions.
