Enter Panasonic’s new TC-50CX600U 4K UHD TV, a budget set from the storied TV maker that’s available in a 50-inch model for just under $1000. That’s the kind of price you’d pay for a mid-tier 1080p HD TV just a year or two ago, and the CX600 comes loaded with Panasonic’s capable new Firefox smart interface.

So, is it time to trade in your HD TV for a model of the next era? The answer is more complicated than you might think.

Panasonic like Sony has a good track record of reliable electronics, so you won't likely have to worry about a new TV because of build quality. Vizio also seems to have a fairly good track record for reliable electronics.. Samsung is another to consider.... Then possibly LG... I believe Westinghouse is rated as one of the lowest... I don't know where Insignia rates, as well as TCL...
