Had that equiliser been against Charlton, it should have had to be conceded what a wonderful strike it was.

I said three weeks ago or when Michael Appelton was appointed that Corey Blackett Taylor would be a talisman for Charlton this season, if he was given freedom and coached a little differently from the norm, it could be that's what's happening, Curbs struggled with a player back in the late 80s and through the 90s that style of play reminds me so much of Paul Mortimer. Paul could be very frustrating to watch, he could be brilliant having all the talents and gifts of many world-class players, but if he couldn't be bothered or things were not going his way in a game, he would disappear in games, on the other hand he could win you a game all on his own and usually as a sub, which kind of explains why he wasn't always a first team choice. His record for Charlton reflects that in two spells at the Addicks, he made 175 appearances, scoring 32 goals and 24 of those goals were usually scored in the last 20 minutes of games. Corey I hope will not find himself going on the same path as Paul, his fabulous strike today was a carbon copy of one of Pauls's strikes all these years ago. Long may you keep it up, Corey. If Mr Mortimer reads this, just to say I loved your playing Paul you were a special touch of magic in a pretty ordinary struggling side, with no real superstars apart from you and of course CARLO. and my special old Scottish Buddy scorer of that famous Charlton 1st goal scored on our return to the Valley, the one and only Colin West. Good luck to the Addiks and promotion. Ally.

It was my birthday today. When I was born, Charlton played Millwall at home and fought back to draw 2-2, almost snatching a late winner. Yes, we did gift them goals but coming back from 2-0 down with ten minutes left felt almost as good as a win, and I preferred the disappointment of not snatching a late winner to the sheer dismay at the likelihood of another shitty home defeat! 😅

Chuks is close to being back to his destructive best, so there are plenty of positives and once the defence sorts itself out we could be real contenders 😎👍🍀🍻
