I have a question. as of now I have a Reptisun 36" 10.0 t8 hood and 36" bulb but I have a national geographic open front top screen and I am now being told the t8 will not penetrate through the metal screen. my tank is 40 gal and basking spots are 5" from top (on log) and 12" from top on rock cave (two spots) ...is the t5 a better choice?

I picked up this hood the other day 36", it comes with a free Reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb, is that ok to use for a bearded dragon or should I switch it out for 10.0 right away? I have an Exo Terra 36x18x18.
