Woodworking: Make a Wood Flag from Garbage

Using plaster laths I found in the trash, I made this really cool wooden flag. Hand carved stars raise the level of awesomeness! Learn some cool techniques to make your own wood flag of various sizes.

This is an outstanding build. I love it. You shouldn't beat yourself up on using the burning technique. The finished product is terrific and has a unique visual quality about it. Most woodworkers are their own worst critics, aren't they (aren't we)?

Exceptionally good vid Tom. I don't think of myself as an especially patriotic person but the idea that anyone would put their national flag in the rubbish is deeply shocking. Thank you for rescuing Lou's flag and honouring his memory. And you're right to be proud of that one - good job mate.

I for sure couldn`t throw out a flag & a drivers license I would have to cut it up
