Chicago Fire Department, Engine 18

I caught up with Mr. Anthony Pecoraro, a firefighter for the Chicago Fire Department, to take an in-depth look at the historic Engine 18. Engine 18 is not only home to dedicated firefighters, but it is also the original filming location of NBC's hit-show. "Chicago Fire." This is hands-down the biggest story I have ever gotten. It was such a pleasure to be granted special access to Engine 18. The firefighters were so friendly. During the process of creating this video, I learned so many new, interesting things about the intense life of a firefighter, and about broadcasting. I felt that I was able to better myself as a reporter due to this package. Truly my favorite one.

this fire house is different than my suburb. the firehouse is in Melrose Park. Melrose Park Fire Department is housed with Ambulance 700, Squad 700, Engine 700 and 705.

Engine 18 is the real deal. 51's Hollywood. Until you've been in a real fire you have no clue of what it's like. So enjoy the show for what it is and respect the men and women of the fire department for what they do. Stay low. Stay safe.

long shot but i’m currently 17 and i’m moving to chicago at 18. When I get my illinois drivers license and that would I be able to become a firefighter (i’m currently in scotland)
