The Edgar Winter Group - Free Ride !!! One of my all time favorites along with ...Frankenstein...Both top hits from the album... They Only Come Out At Night... So named because they were sensitive to light.

Boy Edgar's band were some versatile cats..Lead singer was playing bass on the "Frankenstein" video. Then Edgar playing anything from sax to those crazy keys...Dream Team for sure. And the guitarist who did the solo? Joined Hall and Oates soon after this and stayed with them for years.Great reaction /pick, Maggie!

This is the first time I've seen this particular video and was surprised to see Dan Hartman playing guitar and Rick Derringer on bass. It's usually the other way around. Interesting. These guys are obviously very talented musicians.

The lead guitarist is Rick Derringer who started out in the 60's in a band called the McCoys. Their one super hit was "Hang On Sloopy" He also did solo work when not playing with Edgar Winter his best known song was from the album "All American Boy" the song was Rock N ]' Roll Hoochie Koo.

This is a great album, had my copy. I also saw Rick Derringer when he opened for Heart back in 1977. Another great song off that album is "Hanging Around".

Tobacco Road is a must with both the winter Brothers Johnny and Edgar! Edgar plays a couple different instruments and also sings scat, the most talented albinos ever! Also react to Frankenstein live a totally different song Twice as good as the one you already heard!

I never saw Edgar's lineup like this. Damn...Derringer is on the bass and Hartman is playing guitar. It's usually the other way around! Not sure who's playing the white SG....Ronnie Montrose maybe?

You can always tell when the camera director isn't familiar with a band. Focusing on the rhythm guitarist and bassist, while Rick Derringer, playing some lead guitar licks, isn't even in the shot. 😮😂
