Election Commission Chair Tells Trump To Put Up Or Shut Up

Ellen Weintraub, the chair of the Federal Elections Commission issued a letter to Donald Trump (that she also released to the public) basically telling him to “put up or shut up” on claims of voter fraud. Trump still maintains that millions of illegals voted in 2016 and that’s what cost him the popular vote, but as the chair of the FEC, Weintraub would know if this were true, and it certainly is not. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

It seems a very effective strategy of the Republican party previously I attributed to projection is in fact a pre-emptive strike whereby they accuse opponents of the very crimes they are engaged in; thereby, achieving several strategic positions: 1) immediately casting subsequent accusations as gainsaying (you are, no you are, no you are, ...), 2) immediately putting opposition on the defensive, and 3) immediately confusing onlookers as to who the real villain is. Very effective. "Locker her up!" indeed.
