John Hildreth - Fusion Of The Five Elements

From the posthumous 'Torched' album, this is Michael Hedges' 'Fusion Of The Five Elements.' The tune itself is a reduction of the piece 'Oracle' and is more of a textured, chord-melody guitar solo compared to the more rhythmically intense, finger-style pieces for which he's known. This guitar version frequently appeared in his live shows of the latter 90s, and always featured elements of improvisation -- so, there is a little of that here. 'Fusion' features equal parts space and sound, and contains an absolutely lovely chord progression. It is always a real treat to play.
