The Reptile Zoo provides the community with a unique educational entertainment facility which houses over 100 exotic species of reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from around the world. These animals each have their own story, some are rescues, many were born at The Reptile Zoo, and others are part of private collections. I wouldn't say they're a good starter monitor. They're the most foul tempered between themselves, the black throat monitors, and the white throat monitors. I have a Black Throat and a Savannah. They're also the most expensive to feed because no matter how big they get, their diet remains mostly insectivorous otherwise you'll shorten the lifespan from 12-15 years to 5 years. I love my Savannah monitor, no doubt, but out of the monitors i would recommend an ackie, a quince, or an argus instead because that diet is super hard to get right.

I had one of these as a kid until it got too big for my mom to be ok with. He was such a great lizard and even though they dont have sharp teeth they absolutely can strip the skin off of you hand😂
