Anyone born in the 90’s/early 2000’s knows how tough it’s been to be a Richmond supporter. People forget so easily. We deserve every flag we get

Absolutely heartbroken and gutted but that’s the beauty about footy so many emotions in our great game, congrats to the Tiges for winning the flag, this definitely hurts more than 08😭 but proud of the way we fought and tried our best unfortunately didn’t go our way. Congrats Gazza on an outstanding career and if it is Harry’s last game as well two true warriors. Hope everyone in the AFL get to their families safely after one of the strangest years, thank you so much for putting thousands if not a few million smiles on people’s face every game, also thank you to QLD, WA, SA and NSW for supporting all 18 teams with hubs, absolute nothing but respect. Can’t wait for a normal AFL season hopefully.

Respect to the gen-Ys (even gen-Xs) that missed 1980, survived the 90s and 00s and now get to experience Richmond glory

I don’t often cover my eyes at injuries but Vlastuin’s head knock, Ablett’s repeated shoulder injury and especially Simpsons head knock all made me cringe and cover my eyes.
This really was a hard played game if footy and as long as everyone ends up ok to play another game, or to enjoy the rest if their life

The end of the 2016 season, sitting at home after a belting from the swans in the final round.. at 26 I was thinking, I'm probably never going to see my club win a flag

Fast forward 4 seasons later, absolutely surreal and forever grateful, love this club 🐯🏆

American here: HOLY CRAP THIS SPORT IS BRUTAL! Two full blown knockouts in one game! Where has this been all my life!

Dustin Martin might be the best big game player of all time. Three Norm Smith medals now and his four goals in this game were absolutely freakish.

Richmond are undoubtedly the best club in the competition by far now, especially as they played almost no home games this season (to all those who say they can only win at the MCG).

And then Dusty is just a freak! Wow

I feel so bad for Gary Ablett, honestly he deserved so much more in his career than being at the suns
Then finally joining a good team in 2018 and consistently only making prelims and when he finally made a gf he gets injured in the first few minutes.
Even then he pushed through the pain and proved why his is one of the best players in this era

Never did I think back in 2010 that the basketcase Richmond that I loved would win back to back flags just 10 years later. How amazing it is to know what back to back feels like. Good luck to Geelong for next year, and farewell to Gary Ablett

The bright side of only getting a couple hours sleep before the match (in US) was I was too tired to cry seeing Gazza walk off the oval. Still proud of my Cats for making back to the GF. Sad to say I think this will be the last for a while with Gazza being the first of multiple retirements upcoming.
