Business owners fed up with homeless use dumpsters to block RVs, encampments

Business owners in Sun Valley say they've had enough with the local homeless population. After repeated city cleanups, locals say the encampments would pop right back up. Now business owners are using concrete blocks and dumpsters to stop the homeless from coming back.

You can’t tell me that all those vehicles have current plates and registration and carry insurance. They can park in the impound lot. Also, I doubt if the drivers have a current license.

Seriously, Sun Valley & surrounding North Hollywood people have been voicing out their concerns on unsafe and unhealthy streets due to homeless encampments & irresponsible RV owners who leave trash - for years! It all fell on deaf & corrupt council leaders. We are looking at the mayor & governor and waiting!!!

We have a empty corner lot next to us that kept having people show up. A few of us grouped and ran them off by a show of force. We open carried on the property banging on their RV doors and simply yelling at them to leave our area. Some were defient untill we had gravel brought in and trapped the R Vs with a foot of pea gravel. 2 days later all gone and we spread the gravel out and put signs on 4x4 s . Everybody worked together to stop it before it grew to a point of no return. Push back hard for your neighborhood

I live in my Vw Bus (which I love) but businesses shouldn’t have to do this… big RV’s have no place on city streets… my bus is small, nobody even cares, most of them love my VW… I never leave trash anywhere, I use a pee bottle that I dump in restrooms.. and I keep moving.. again the homeless are a huge problem…

I'm sorry to say, the homeless who live in these POS, non running, clap traps give honest, responsible nomads, full timers, and skoolie owners a bad name. We are responsible, clean, friendly people who are trying to find a place to park for a day or 2. Not people who are trashing up places with crap (junk and human waste). Most of these people have problems that require treatment. Either drug or mental.
