It was not the white people that coined the phrase Black British. It was the Black people of Britain who called themselves that.

How are you as a black American going to tell Black people WHAT THEY CANT SAY in the Uk

Wait until you realize king James was black the Stuart family and Tudors. The slave trade is dynamic. The black American Indians also sided with the British at certain points as slave catchers. So there were black American slaves shipped that way too. There are so many questions between the Indian wars the American revolution and the slave trade .

Love this Video, I actually saw the title and I was like who is this American talking to then I watched the video and I was like this is sound. Personally, I always say I'm Jamaican English by identity and Black British by nationality. We like the term Black British because it encompasses all of us and fosters unity. So I am Jamaican British, I've got friends who are Nigerian British, Ghanian British Somali British and together we're all Black British. It's kind of our term of Unity. When it comes to the original Black British people a lot of things have happened to them a lot of them. In the 1800s the English had slave catchers before the abolishment of the British slave trade to send most of the black people back to the Caribbean and Africa and then also a lot of them died out. However the bulk of memorable and documented Black British History came from the 1900s starting with the Caribbean regiments who fought for Britain during the First World War, then the Second World War and then of course, the Windrush generation.

I think the question of what happened to Black UK history - is a very valid question. I also think it explains why black UK individuals latch onto and criticize Black American history so much because they literally don’t know theirs. There are gaps

I think the REAL BLACK BRITISH were married and had children by the White people in UK, and white people continued married and having children with white people so on and on. Black BRITISH blood were erased back then because of a lots of interracial. Prince Harry was related to Queen Charlotte, Queen Charlotte had Black Moors genes from both sides. Queen Charlotte's mother was half Black Moors and White. Queen Charlotte's mother married and white man and had Charlotte and Charlotte's siblings. Charlotte married a man and had 15 children, but 2 died. The White blood genes continued and continued and continued on and on and on and the Black Moors genes was erased. Until Harry met Meghan.

Also when the Windrush generation arrived, they were not going to a foreign country, they were going to what they had been taught was their motherland

Hey @adoniscrashboom, I'm a Nigerian British ( Yoruba), I don't think it's true that Moorish Americans lack culture and got no history. They are more likely to be descendants of migrators ( such as Aboriginal Americans, Moorish European settlers, Asian Settlers, Australian Aboriginals, Meleansians, Arabs, Sans people, North West African Moselms( Carthage, modern-day Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco etc.), Atlanteans etc.) than their ancestors who were enslaved Africans from West and Central parts of the motherland. White Europeans never called a black person when they encountered them as "black", but they described them as "moors" ( the ancient ethnic term for the modern-day black people of African descent) way back before the 14th century.

Anyway, it would be cool for you to visit Australia one day to do public interviews there specifically to talk with the Australian Aboriginals there and get to know their cultures but if any of them have knowledge about Africa

Next video should be, “There’s no such thing as black people.” Everything you said applies to us in America as well. Our last names is all the proof you need to know we are a variety of people as well. No one is ACTUALLY black to begin with.

As the child of Jamaican parents, I can assure you there are Black British!!!! Jamaicans do not see British-born, ethnic Jamaicans as REAL So, those of us who have been born and raised in UK cultrure, are Black British!!!!. I'm not - authentically Jamaican!...You can't compare Jamaicans and people of the West Indies to Africans, who still have their language etc. We don't belong to a tribe!., , , we have no knowledge of it! Our culture is a mix of Jamaican and English culture! We accept it, even if the English don't like it! Or you!

Yep! Am old enough to remember when Mtv was racist like that against all minority music artists! Shot out and respect to David Bowie for calling them out for it publicly! And for those who are too young to remember when this happen, Mtv reluctantly played the Thriller video and it became so popular that Mtv would play that video for 24 hours straight on some weekends!
