BASF’s journey to net zero emissions

We have reached 1 degree Celsius above the pre-industrial temperature. It’s beyond global warming. We now have climate change. It is causing extreme weather around the globe and it will only get worse if we go over the 1.5°C mark. At BASF, we are accelerating action to tackle this challenge. Many of our products help individual consumers in their efforts to reduce emission (e.g., insulation materials). In 2022, our first plants at the Guangdong Verbund site will be powered by 100% renewable energy. Our carbon management effort also includes switching from fossil to recycled and renewable materials.
