[4K] Polar Express Steam Train - Western Maryland 1309

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 2-6-6-2 1309 powers a series of Polar Express excursions. This 1949-built Baldwin Mallet takes charge with these Christmas trains up the former WMRY and Cumberland & Pittsburgh Railroad to Frostburg Depot.

Kinda wish they put decorations on 1309 like they did last year but knowing it’s sporting the nyc whistle again, I’ll let it slide. I mean, it’s one beautiful whistle.

1309 is a beast of a locomotive. The WMSR is really putting C&O 1309 through its paces. I’m also laughing how the WM B40-8 and F40ph are just being pulled along even if they are dynamic breaking in notch 8. That just demonstrates the raw strength of steam
