I attempted to make a bonfire "Finnish candle", but it didn't ignite as I intended. It burned only at the bottom and didn't reach the top. The weather was damp, with light snowfall, which may have contributed to it. The temperature was around zero degrees Celsius. In case of cold, I had a sleeping bag in my backpack, but I didn't need to use it. I burned the remnants of chopped wood and added another dry log during the night. There were enough logs to sleep for 5-6 hours until morning.

Snowy, frosty forest is the best time for bushcraft adventures. Test your skills by spending a night in the winter forest, building a shelter from wind and snow using a poncho, gathering firewood, and starting a campfire. Prepare dinner over the fire and spend the night in the snowy wilderness. You can experience this by watching this video while contemplating how you would set up camp and what would work for you based on what I do.

The video is edited with ASMR elements.

Equipment - Swedish forged axe, Kephart knife, military flask with a pot.

I’m impressed he got a fire going with a single match and wet kindling. I cheated and used those petro chemical fire starters. Great video.

I remember when I was in Jr High this old survival guy took all the kids that wanted to go up to the top of this ski hill and we made snow caves. Probably one of the best times I had in Jr High. Surprising how warm it was in the cave. Just make sure and make the inside like a dome or it will drop down quite a ways.
