A structure called the "Clock House" burned Sunday night at the Heidelberg Project in Detroit, the latest blaze in a series of fires in recent weeks at the world-renowned art installation.

Smoke billowed through the neighborhood as firefighters worked to put out the blaze at 11:20 p.m. Detroit police were also on the scene.

The last fire happened on Thanksgiving morning. The arsons have been occurring since early October, previously destroying three of the seven original anchor structures. Before Sunday night's blaze, four were still standing.

The installations that have burned are "The War Room" on Nov. 28, the "Penny House" on Nov. 21, the "House of Soul" on Nov. 12 and "Obstruction of Justice" house, known as the OJ House, on Oct. 5.

Heidelberg leaders have taken measures to prevent more fires, including regular car patrols and improvements to lighting and surveillance.

Artist Tyree Guyton created the Heidelberg Project in 1986, slowly decorating abandoned homes with colorful designs and found objects.

Guyton was on the scene of the blaze Sunday night and said it was the eighth fire in the last seven months. He declined to comment further.

The fire at the Penny House was deemed arson, prompting the FBI and the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to join the investigation of the fires.

Earlier this month, the ATF announced it is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the fires.

According to the ATF, experts from the Detroit Fire Department and the ATF determined the first seven fires were intentionally set.

Anyone with information is asked to call the ATF hotline at 888-ATF-FIRE or the Detroit Fire Department's arson unit at 313-596-2940.

It's a terribly tragic situation in Detroit. It amazes me that this person/group of people are so willing to destroy something so beautiful.
Big respect to the Fire Department of Detroit. Keep fighting.
