Horror games like Poppy Playtime, Choo-Choo Charles, and Garten of Banban have exploded in popularity, but could an AI create them? To put this to the test, I challenged my friend to see who can make the scariest horror game in 1 hour, using only AI tools like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion!

Thanks to @samyam for featuring in the video!

*The scene opens with a dimly lit room, and in the center, you see a Roomba relentlessly spinning in circles. It begins to hum "You spin me right round, baby, right round" while emitting R2-D2-like noises. The room is filled with a mixture of laughter and confusion as the Moaning Roomba continues its quirky performance, turning an ordinary cleaning task into an unexpected showstopper.* Imagine a game about a roomba would be amazing✨

PolyMars: **casually types gibberish into ElevenLabs**

9:12: ElevenLabs TTS voice: **spazzes out unintelligible gibberish with skills a bit worse than Matt Rose but still good, with a bit of lisping**

"Gun: A Horror Game" sounds like a great concept! Here are some ideas to flesh it out:
Setting:
* Haunted Mansion: A classic haunted house setting with a creepy atmosphere. Maybe the gun belonged to a previous resident or has a dark history.
* Abandoned City: A desolate and overgrown urban environment with lurking horrors. The gun could be scavenged loot or the only defense against the threats.
* Alien World: A hostile alien world filled with mutated creatures. The gun is a prototype weapon or the last line of defense against an invasion.
Horror Elements:
* Psychological Horror: Play on the protagonist's fear and paranoia. Are the threats real or a figment of their imagination? Limited ammo could heighten anxiety.
* Jump Scares: Sudden frights to keep players on edge. Use sound design and environment to build tension.
* Body Horror: Grotesque and disturbing imagery to create a sense of unease.
* The Unknown: Let players piece together the story and the nature of the horror. Hints and clues can build suspense.
The Gun:
* Limited Ammo: Force players to choose their shots wisely. Scrounging for ammo adds another layer of tension.
* Unreliable Weapon: The gun could jam or malfunction at critical moments, adding to the desperation.
* Special Effects: Unique ammo types or weapon upgrades can introduce strategic elements.
Story Ideas:
* Unraveling a Mystery: The protagonist uses the gun to uncover the truth behind a haunting or supernatural event.
* Survival: The player must fight for survival against increasingly horrific threats.
* Moral Choices: The gun becomes a tool for both defense and potential violence, forcing the player to make tough decisions.
Additional Considerations:
* Sound Design: A key element in horror games. Eerie ambient sounds, unsettling music cues, and impactful audio effects can greatly enhance the atmosphere.
* Visual Design: Create a dark and oppressive world with good use of lighting, shadows, and environmental details.
* Pacing: Balance intense moments with periods of exploration and puzzle-solving to keep players engaged.
These are just a few ideas to get you started. With creativity and planning, "Gun: A Horror Game" can be a truly terrifying experience!

5:54 There’s an audio option in most editors that’s called a Limiter. That could’ve helped a lot here to keep the audio from going above a certain threshold and blowing out our eardrums.
