Outdoor Automated Valet Parking Robot System

Meet Stan the Outdoor Automated Robotic Valet Parking System, made by Stanley Robotics.

The system works like this. The customers park their cars in special hangars, where the vehicles are scanned to confirm their make and model. You then scan your phone into the system with flight information of return arrival time.

Then, one of the Robots, which are essentially self-driving forklifts, drives in, slides a platform underneath the vehicle, lifts it up by the wheels, and carries it away and parks it.

Based off your return date & time you scanned in, the robot then digs your car out of the parking lot and puts it back in the hanger, ready & waiting for your arrival.

The robot uses the same technology as self-driving cars, and is able to scan its environment and react to anything that would be it’s the way. The robots can take and move any car, lifting them by the wheels and block-parking them efficiently.

The robot uses space much more efficiently than humans, fitting 50 percent more cars into the same area. This means you could replace 6000 traditional human car parking spots, with 8500 spots maintained by robot valets.

Thanks for watching

To be clear this is not a prototype or a possible future tech item, this Robot has been in operation at the France's Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport since 2019.

Thanks for the video! Good work. This total idea makes no sense. After a while you loose the opportunity to park your car. The place saving aspect isn't there because of the new big garages. You don't save time cause time is money. You spent money for using this app. After all you loose and a company wins money for making you unable to park your car. Greetings from Germany. Sorry for my bad English but you get the point.

Who do you blame when your car comes back looking like it's been run through a trash compacter?

Cars get parked closer together, freeing up space for more cars? See how these empty spaces will be filled with car parking robots.

"200 cars a day" that must be a mistake.
Anyhow, it is clear this technology and similar are just around the corner and if you design upper and lower levels, the amount of space saved can easily be multiplied five times.

3:21 plus a low sports car would be scratched up on the bottom if that thing came over unless it grabs the tires-then its a WHOLE new story

Like all good tech, this will soon be used by car thieves and porn producers.
