Artanis: Did you know this warrior?
Raynor: No... But I know his story... He had a 20 sec build time and had 45 hp. He cost 50 mins and 1 supply. He does 6 dmg at range 5. When he first came out he offered me a piece of himself. Never Forget.

The Protoss Terran relationship in the Starcraft saga is amongst the most friendly human alien alliance... I jumped in joy everytime i get a chance to field the two races side by side. And who do we have to thank for that? Raynor. That guy definitely deserve the happy ending.

Artanis: "It is your custom to shake the hand of a friend, is it not?"

So humanly.

There's subtle symbolism when Artanis says to shake the hand of a friend and then reaches out with zeratuls gauntlet, literally shaking the hand of his friend zeratul one last time.

The moment when Jim recognises Zeratul's warp blade, and realises that his friend is dead... Damn Dark Templars cutting onions

Raynor: "Give em' Hell, Artanis."
Artanis: *Nods* *Ponders* "Dafuq is Hell?" Some kind of Terran peace offering?"

I swear, Raynor really is a hell of a leader. His simple speechs like here, and in Wing Of Liberty on Char when everyone is ready to give up, he gets them back on their feet. Even right here when Artanis sounds like they'll still lose, Raynor's like "nope. we're not done yet."

The symbolism is on point tbh. Having lost the khala, the Daleem protoss learns what it's like to truly feel alone, something they never had to face before. This is just what us humans go through every day. And like us, they are learning to live with it, to adapt, and to roll with the punches. So, in our own customs, shake hands as equals.

This scene is so well written.

Don’t know if anyone noticed, but when artanis offered to shake hands, he did it in the submissive way (palm up)
He probably would not have known this, since he’s largely unaware of Terran customs.

But then when Jim accepts the handshake, he brings their hands level, which means that he’s treating Artanis like his equal. That’s the posture of a handshake with mutual respect, Jim shoes artanis how.

(Mengsk is the kind of guy who would always need to have his hand on top during handshakes in the dominant position.)

The interactions between Raynor and Artanis were great but for some reason the bit that really hit me was the short few seconds with Valerian. The highest ranking terran right in the front (assuming aiding the recovery efforts) even taking the time to close the eyes of a deceased civilian.

It's incredibly heartwarming to finally see the humans and the protoss forging such a powerful alliance. After so many years of conflict, the two races have finally made peace and through Kerrigan, now free of the Overmind's influence, even the Zerg made an armistice with the other two races.

I love that lingering camera shot on Zeratul's gauntlet. Just enforces to both Raynor and players that Zeratul is gone, and we're facing the fight of our lives without one of our oldest friends.

I love how Blizzard developed Artanis from a young pure boy to a superhero like this.

That moment Raynor rrcognizes Zeratul's blade on Artanis' arm. Subtle, but touching
