‘Spinning’ is the most mind blowing trick in Star Wars

Rogue One CGI on Peter Cushing was amazing.

This is one of the reasons why Star Wars is my favourite film series

The painting backdrop blew my mind. I never would've known that until today.

If you've seen Star Wars hundreds of times, of course, you'll notice that Tarkin is CGI. I sure did, but I can appreciate the technical aspect, and if Peter Cushing never existed and they just animated a human with that technology, nobody would notice.

This is insulting. Where is the credit for the groundbreaking special effects of the Prequels? Did you know that the Mustafar Scenes used footage of real sets, a huge practical model of a volcanic landscape with a pulley-system to flow lava, and REAL footage of Mt Etna erupting?

Why is that not getting acknowledged as one of the greatest feats of special effects Lucasfilm has ever achieved?

I was waiting for the Ben Swolo special effects reveal, but then I remembered there was no special effects

really? "at at"? it's an acronym, if the odd name didn't make it obvious. sure, it saves time to say it phonetically, but it makes it seem unprofessional. Besides, 2 extra syllables isn't bad. the most you'd get is a video with an extra half-second.

This video just gave me the best "there there" feeling in the middle of a very troubling and inmature reaction to fans from Lucasfilms executives, directors and actors. Thank you Mojo.com

Im not a fan of these thumbnail arrows. It just makes the channel look cheap and desperate.

just goes to show, when you are low on money, you can use many different ways to make the scenes still look amazing, bith props, and in animation (refering to the original triligy)

The "after" picture in the thumbnail is literally the actor in A New Hope, not the cgi from Rogue One.

You know Matt paintings have been used in movies since the 1930s. Am not sure that effect was 'mind blowinng' by the time star wars came out some 40 years later.

the origenal explosion? thats the special edition one!

A nice video, but there’s a few mistakes: the original crawling text didn’t have ‘Episode IV A New Hope’ inserted until later, the ‘original explosion’ of the Death Star shown is the special edition version with the CGI Praxis Effect, when talking about the matte shot paintings again the special edition versions were shown, and in your video thumbnail on the right that’s just Peter Cushing.

Tarkin looks a lot like John Tyler, US President

It seems like we rely on CGI too much in recent ears. The old ways had some magic.

any chance of shooting the footage without the modifications to them...there is plenty of vids out there
