Food Fact:

Karak/Kadak: This chai is a type chai in which the strength of flavour can be adjusted depending on ur preference. As this chai is made by mixing of Milk and Hard Tea Liquor in ratios. Kadak means STRONG and as the name suggests, the chai is very strong in flavour because it contains 2 parts liquor and one part milk generally. Add more liquor for harder flavour and lesser for mild.

Paratha: Paratha is nothing but flat bread made from Aata (wheat flour) but instead of cooking on just a pan top like Roti, its pan fried with oil or ghee. Paratha can also be made out of Maida (Refined Wheat flour) like in the video but Aata is easier to digest and much healthier.

And the Paratha in the video is Laccha Paratha (actually Porota), Laccha means tangled but in terms of a Paratha it means 'layer'.
Eg:- a Laccha of onion, etc

Therefore u see the paratha being rolled into a spiral like a cinnamon bun or croissant (alot of layers to make it crispy) and and then flattened again. Made as flat as possible and then cooked till crispy af, then crumbled (as shown in the video) crumbling is not necessary.
Hence Laccha in the video it's made purely out of maida and not aata therefore it's a Porota mainly consumed in South India in the states of Kerala.
Difference between them: Aata or Maida.
Porota is also crushed up like in the video, Laccha Paratha isn't.

Extra info: Chai also has variation called Kardha (not kadak chai).
In Kardha, with tea leaves, goes in Crushed Ginger and Tulsi leaves (Indian Basil). Like Kadak Chai, other spices can be added but it will overpower the flavour of Ginger and Tulsi.
It is used as a remedy to treat cold and cough. Can also be consumed simply as a beverage.

Another variation: Masala Chai is just an another type Chai in which other than Tea Leaves, variety of spices are also added like Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Black Pepper, etc.
Masala means spice.

Please do Google the word "Laccha" or "लच्छा" if simply means a Group of something mainly used for something which is tangled and has many layers to it.

Eg: Cotton, Cotton Candy, Bird's nest, Lint, etc.

Here in the video and In terms of Paratha, it means LAYERS.

We (Trinidadians) got paratha from our Indian ancestors who came to work as indentured labourers. The local name for it is 'Buss Up Shot' likely because of how the paratha is beaten after its been cooked. It's popular for religious celebrations like Eid and Divali but is also a regular lunch menu item from many food places.

Karak/Kadak in itself doesn't mean anything commonly, in India people call it "Kadak Chai" which basically means "Solid Tea" (Solid meaning the tea just hits different👌)

I think it’s a restaurant owned by people from Kerala. Because the paratta shown in the video is actually Kerala porotta. And the tea method also is literally Kerala tea.

It’s not really called karak . In India we have chai which is basically tea with many spices and sugar when more spices are added it’s called “karak chai”

In TamilNadu, it’s called as Parotta and in Kerala it’s called as Poratta…

If you want to have the best parotta in entire world then you should visit Madurai in Tamil nadu, India.

Get a “Parotta” and “Mutton chukka” combo you will love it, you will feel the authenticity

Else visit Kochi in Kerala to have the best Malabar Poratta and beef curry combo

That is not Karak and Paratha. That is Samovar tea and Malabar Parotta. The difference is that for Samovar tea, they don't use evaporated Milk but uses Fresh Milk and the tea/milk is boiled on a Samovar as the name suggests and the Parotta is like a Laccha Paratha but it is smacked again after cooking it.

actually the long pour cools the tea down and allows you to drink almost right away!
