That paper towel holder is a work of art in itself. You always have very practical and innovative inventions to show us. Thanks, Mark.

So….I’ve made the easel, the still life structure, the palette table, the brush holder, and the color checker. Off to buy supplies to make the towel holder! Thanks Mark!

Thank you sir for sharing that, great idea. I've been holding paper towels in my hand and have been thinking I need a different way. This is it. Definitely more efficient and less exposure to solvents.

Another jewel by Mark! :) Worlds greatest teacher/art supply designer :) His web site is a real game changer too. If you want to learn realism its actualy better than freaking art school^^ A realy comprehensive guide, but one that anyone can follow. Ty again for everything Mark, you are a real treasure! :)

Ingenious! And what a great way to reduce waste…and in my case, a mess, as I tend to wad up the paper towel and after just a few uses, I end up with paint on my hands & everywhere else!

Genius! I've ordered your small easel and can't wait to receive it and use it. Thank you for your contributions to smarter processes for painting.

From Oz [ Australia] You're a freakin' LEGEND Mark. They should have a statue of you in the humanity hall of fame. I use your diy tall skinny easel and since I live across the pacific I hope one day you'll sell the plans to the monster one for people outside of USA etc. as a downloadable pdf. Most stuff from the U.S. has the postage much more than the item and that's for really light and little things, anyway sincere thanks.

Now that I see your device I realize how much of a paper towel I waste by having it crumpled up in my hand. You are excellent at explaining so much of what can be achieved with the art of painting!
Thank you for all you have done in the teaching realm form myself and others! 👍

I paint almost entirely in plein air these days, particularly in London where I'm lumbering through Underground stations. I'd need to figure a way to get something like this to fold up inside a french easel and/or into a 90L rucksack WITH a wet panel box as well.

I'm basically calling it a good idea, I just need to make it more portable.

I would had definitely built it if there was better instructions, unfortunately I have zero knowledge on how to build things but I do know that this could had been very useful to me.. really wish there was a small list of items needed. Thank you for sharing anyways!

What is going on here? Are you painting from a print or making a second (2.35?) painting using the first as reference? Thanks for sharing.
