Such a beautiful dog! I have one with us over ten years. He is like a lion outside but like a sheep with the family. I love him so much!

GSPs are such wonderful companions. Every one has such a constantly affectionate yet tirelessly energetic and steadfast disposition.

My beautiful girl just passed away this month. But I still have my handsome boy. I've had these dogs before they became popular, best dogs ever!

Doberman owner but big respect for the fellow German! My grandfather had three GSPs and I loved them. To watch them out hunting was something else!

Many GSP's in rescue sadly because owners don't realise how much exercise they need. IF they get the correct exercise they are simply THE best dog in the world. Not for the light hearted!! I have 3 and 3 have passed. Boy they keep me fit.

Back in the 60's I was about 4 and a man tried to grab me and our female German Shorthair protected me and bit the guy pretty good. I still miss her.

Belated Congrats to CJ and his owner/handler, a job well done. Always great to see how well socialized and behaved many show dogs are, good for the dog in fact, currently showing my German Wirehaired Pointer, Shorthairs and Wirehairs are fantastic dogs.

I’ve had three. They are the nuttiest dogs. I had one who would get angry when she finished her food because her bowl was empty. She would put her front paws in the bowl and “hike” it through her rear legs like a center snapping a football for a punt! That bowl would sail 10 feet and hit the walls and cabinets. Then she’d run to the door to go out...Two minutes later, she’d want to came in...Two minutes later, she’d want to go back out. This could go on for a half-hour. They usually start calming down when they reach the age of ten. Do not buy a GSP unless you want a high-energy; high-maintenance dog.

i remember my ol GSP shadow. talk about a dog who was goofy as he was stubborn. I remember taking him for walks at the local park. Certain days he would run around all the time. Other days if he was feeling lazy and he didnt feel like being at the park he would begin to walk home without me. I miss mine.

Best upland hunting breed ever. If you have a big yard and high fence then maybe this is the dog for you. Need lots of exercise. Not walks, free runs on a good shock collar like dogtra. These dogs love and need to hunt. It is bred into them. If you live in an apartment, probably not the dog for you. If you don't want them to hunt, then probably not for you. They have the strongest prey drive of any dog. They will hunt whatever they find. I have had labs, Brittany's and hunted behind Weimaraners and Springer's. GSP are the best. I have two.

A German shorthaired pointer should be best in show every year! But I may be a biased!🤔
