Correction to what I say at 9:45 -- That should have been *billions* of course, not millions! Sorry about that.

Today we’ll talk a new explanation for the interstellar object Oumuamua, what’s up with the W-boson anomaly, two new institutes founded by NASA, an airplane powered by hydrogen, a gigapixel 3D microscope, vaccinations without the needles, concrete that talks, nano-labels, and of course the telephone will ring.

Thanks for the portuguese subtitles. It makes it a lot easier to show my students how to answer difficult questions!
You rock Sabine!

Sabine's humor is always great, but this episode seems even more packed with good jokes than usual. My favorite is the concrete that is as communicative as the average teenager :D Well done, Sabine, looking forward to the next one.

* VFX Tip: Plan to use a blue-screen background (instead of a green background) when you know the replacement background footage is primarily blue - remove the blue around you the same as the green - your hair and your overall look will blend in more naturally

Love your vids!!

First time listening to Sanine. I love her! I watch most of the science channels and she gives the most interesting takes on what's happening now with the best twists I have ever heard with a straight face. She made me go hmmm constantly with a laugh of the facts or another perspective. You go girl!

Your Weekly Science News are somehow "addictive" too for us, (and 3D related, choose one triplet): Deep-Divergent-Delightful, Detailed-Determined-Didactic, (this last in the appreciating sense of the term - of course)

The DASH-8 is a good test platform for Hydrogen engines. I worked on the production line for several years.

9:47 4.5 billion years ago. I love your videos! I’m nitpicking because I think I’m uncool. By acting accordingly I’ll have no cognitive dissonance.

"Quantum sensor: One that both works and doesn't work at the same time."
- Priceless

The old air injectors were dangerous to use, the injectee had to stand very still and not jump. The guy in line ahead of me jumped when they hit him with the injection and the air cut a 2 inch deep, 3 inch long gash in his upper arm. I stood EXTREMELY Still while I got my injection. I found out later that the injection accident victim had been let go from the Navy due to muscle damage to the arm and limited motion at the time, and would likely see several more surgeries to make things right. This was back in '81

If the Oumuamua calculation doesn't take into account a cooling effect - then it simply needs to be done again and we look at the data once more. Then we talk about the results. This issue is a great example of people (on both sides) fixated on a conclusion rather than being led by the data.
