Patients are called consumers. That tells you the truth.

I'm still not understanding why the CEOs are NOT held accountable for the crimes of the companies they lead. Disgusting.

I just want to grab this guy when he says it's the responsibility of health insurance to "guard against the pressures that exist for unsafe care or unnecessary care" and shout "WHAT MAKES *YOU* MORE QUALIFIED THAN MY DOCTOR TO SAY WHAT IS UNSAFE OR UNNECESSARY?!?!"

why does an MRI cost $16, 000, but here in AUS it will only cost me $400 full price. Its just price gouging on a master level.

Thiel was so caught off guard by that question. Like he hadn't even considered it. This is how out of touch these people are.

As an Australian, the words “consumers”, “health care industry” and “avoid unnecessary care” all in the same sentence is boggling.

It's unanimous. No normal American feels sorry for Brian Thompson.

American healthcare should not be an “industry” and these greedy capitalists make me sick

As a fellow Brit I’m disgusted with CEO BRIAN WITTY to hear his English accent and discover he’s British and so he himself grew up in the uk with FREE UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE FOR ALL - so he SHOULD be as disgusted with the insurance scam as ALL brits are yet he’s not - he’s filling his pockets with the spoils of death - he utterly disgusts and repulses me . That company knew damn well what they were doing by employing a Brit who would confidently be able to brush off the accusations in any court or investigation - DISGUSTING (!)

When you think we don't matter. It so weird that Luigi Mangione did something so heinous yet he united more people in the country than any modern politician. Go figure.

Health care for profit is cruel and evil. Profits before people is as horrible as it gets. Shame on these evil people!

Every child in the public school system has sat through many active shooter drills.... but CEOs are scared and losing sleep?

Health insurance IS NOT healthcare. It’s insurance. These people have no business deciding what healthcare is safe and/or necessary. Period.

$22 bilion a year in BLOOD PROFITS. If the CEOs are feeling "terrified, " they should reflect on their own life choices. How they can look their own children in the eyes escapes me completely.

These CEO’s are not Drs. They know nothing about needed care.

CEOs shocked and terrified to discover that we 99% feel about them exactly the same way _they feel about us_

I'm a scientist who used to work with a neonatologist who worked himself to the bone saving premature babies. One of the things that used to infuriate him was that he had to take time that he would have otherwise spent doing patient care or research, on the phone fighting insurance companies to prevent them from refusing to cover care for babies on ventilators (born too early to be able to breathe on their own), arguing that those infants couldn't be discharged from the hospital, and sometimes losing. The people with whom he had to argue were inevitably people who were unqualified to practice medicine, demanding that he cut corners or follow protocols which would cost the insurance companies less, but might cost those babies their lives. In the end, they drove him out of patient care and into fulltime research because he just couldn't deal with that any longer. When I heard about the murder of United Healthcare's CEO, my first thought was "I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner."
