This video explores waveform mixing on the ARP 2600 Waveform Mixing.
All waveforms have a fundamental frequency (e.g. for an A-440, it is 440 Hz). The harmonics would be whole number multiples of the fundamental frequency:
440 x 2 = 880 - the first harmonic
440 x 3 = 1320 - the second harmonic, and so forth.
If this is new information to you, I would encourage you to google "harmonics" after watching the video.
The four "standard" waveforms : sine, triangle, square, sawtooth have increasingly rich (audible) harmonics. What we demonstrate here is how to eliminate fundamental by using a "phase cancellation" technique.
