In the intro Big Jerm said that Brodie really worked hard in the off season on many parts of his disc golf game. Actually, Brodie said he didn't even pick up a disc. Instead, he lost 40 lbs and prioritized his health and fitness above all other things.

I think the mound on hole one is a root/preserves cellar. The tree roots guarantee it will never freeze. At least that's how similar structures are used in the Northeast.
