I have been married to my husband & this April will be our 14 yr anniversary. My husband was the one who got into a car accident back when we were 6 months into our marriage back in 2009. I never left his side. Took care of him when he had his accident. Looking back, we lived in our 2nd floor apartment & I had to help him up & down the stairs. Took him to his doc appointments & took care of everything. I never regretted it. I would do it all over again. We have 2 boys now & still going strong. God does see us through it the rest of the way.

That's the gold standard of love. Like a fantasy, almost. We've become so obsessed with immediate gratification and with little patience for long-term goals. It's still out there. We need to be able to see beyond the moment to better things.
