Debugging Rules: A systematic approach to fix ANY bug!
Are you aware of how often you find yourself doing some troubleshooting? Just something small to track down? Do you do it without thinking? In the grand scheme of things, this is actually debugging work - whether code and an IDE are involved or not. Furthermore, there’s a set of 9 rules that can help save you hours of wasted effort, and frustration, help you avoid failure, and help solve the problem (not just ‘fix’ the symptom). Join us as we dust off what may be a missing classic from your technical bookshelves and talk about how to approach fixing any kind of ‘bug’ we find in software, hardware, or anywhere!
About the speaker:
Garrick West is a Senior Consultant at Industrial Logic who has been building software with XP practices for the better part of over two decades across multiple development stacks, and coaching teams on to do so for the rest. This has allowed him to continue enjoying a career doing what he loves professionally - building great software by building great teams that can handle any changes the future holds. He lives in the greater Seattle area with his loving wife and two attention-seeking cats. He does not have a pinball problem and can quit any time he wants
