What’s happening in this Get Out movie clip?
Dozens of wealthy white people arrive for the Armitages' annual get-together. They express admiration for Chris's (Daniel Kaluuya from Black Panther and Queen & Slim) physique and for black figures such as Tiger Woods. Other white people make questionable or clumsy remarks about black people. Chris meets another black man, Logan King (Lakeith Stanfield from Dope), who behaves strangely and is married to a much older white woman.

What’s the movie Get Out about?
Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya), a young African-American man, spends the weekend with his girlfriend Rose Armitage (Allison Williams) to meet her parents. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared for the horror ahead of him.

Rose was never on his side. We should have realized it when she casually brushed off all of her families subtle racism

Scary thing about this segment of the movie is that, on first watch, you think Rose is on his side, but once you find out the truth, you realise that he is well and truly on his own, and he doesn't even realise it yet.

0:55 and 1:15 Small detail but look at Rose's face. It's like she's trying to tell them to stop with the comments or you'll creep him out and make him want to leave.

I know I'm late but I just now caught when logan said goodbye to chris he was basically saying that because chris was going to actually be gone soon, well in the sunken place. That's pretty sinister, mocking the fact that his body would be taken from him soon basically.

Chris’s facial expressions in this movie say a TON by themselves. Great acting!

My advice if you're ever engaged this kind situation is:

1) never asking or put any hope & quickly get out from this environment

The fact that people suck so much that you can make a movie based around one problem is incredible. Huge props to Jordan peele this move was insanely good.

When I heard about this film I was surprised that the villains were not right wing white supremacists. They were intellectual liberals.

2:06 anyone else notice this girls checking him out

You can tell from the start that something is off. When he's taking pictures you can see people in the background just staring at him, which he doesn't notice, such as 2:07, girl in red.

it's funny cuz i kept noticing rose sneaking like almost angry glances at them. when i first watched this i was like- "wow, i'm rlly glad she is at least trying to look out for him." and then after seeing the full movie i realized- it's just her being like "hey guys, you're too obvious, don't ruin this for me." imo she is the worst cuz she is just straight up an insanely manipulative sociopath..

It's not full blown racism. Each conversation the couples are seeing if he has the qualities for selection they are looking for. Example 1st couple the husband was an avid golfer. So at the end when they asked to see his golf stance, was a way of checking him out.

I’m glad this movie arrived and was acclaimed before “woke” became a thing that is used way too often to bash movies instead of providing actual constructive criticism.
