must take a small army to prune all those vines on all that land. Glad you initially have the close up showing the plants 6 feet apart. Mine are too close and not producing well

Are the roots on those plants as long as the top of the plants? Probably have a huge root system supporting minimal growing area on the surface.

One grafts on resistant root stock largely because of root pests such as phylloxera and nematodes, not for disease resistance.  Although some rootstocks have  use to resist dagger nematode infecting the vine with fan leaf virus.  Other reasons for rootstocks are to effect the vigor of the vine and nutrient uptake in very low ph soils or very high ph soils.  Some rootstocks can also have a positive effect on fruit set on cultivars that set poorly.

i planted a vine this spring. it is about 1 foot tall and has grapes on it. i planted another one two years ago, it's 6 foot tall and nothing. i need to rethink this entire grape thing.

So is the trunk just one single vine that grew and became very thick? If so, does that mean when you are starting out with a small one, you only need to keep on shoot to grow up as the trunk?

how does the s04 work for you?
I like its vigor, 3309 is lower quality vigor.
what kind of soil do you have?

So that would be 60 odd clusters approx per vine?🤔

cool, just got given a baby grape plant, my method would've been to simply bang it in the ground and see what happens haha, obviously a lot more to it :P

You Americans are very smart, I think why we don't get it so your land is loose, isn't it?.

The vine would overproduce fruit and much of it would not ripen, leaving it unsuitable for wine production.
