BOOSTSURF - World's First Electric Surfboard Fin

Показать описание
The BoostSurf is the World's First Electric Surfboard Fin, created to help surfers catch waves, by paddling faster and longer.

The Boostsurf can be attached to shortboards, longboards, soft top foam boards, and even stand-up paddleboards.

The electric fin in really simple to use, simply remove the existing fin on your current surfboard, screw in an adaptor and fit the Boostsurf fin back in it’s place.

Once the fin is on the board, you can control it with a remote on your wrist, which allows the surfer to adjust the power and duration of the speed boosts.

The Boostsurf electric fin will boost your paddle speed by upto 10 mph on flat water, and if you use the fin continuously, you can expect to get about 15 minutes of use, but if you only use it to help you do short boosts to catch a wave, you can expect it to last for 60-90 minutes.

Now the best thing about the BoostSurf Electric Fin, is it only costs $299.

Thanks for watching.

I can even see how this could be great for people with paddle boards who may have some disabilities, and just like to go float about on a lake or something, this can totally be a great addition to their board to help give them a little boost throughout the day while they're going about so they dont get so tired.

All those complaining are the ones who fought the idea of a leash, the idea of a shorter board, the twin fin, the thruster, the concave nose, the channel bottom, the flat bottom, tow in surfing, and stomp pads, and yes even Sex Wax. There have been bad ideas like baby buggy bumper rails and mat layups on a Duane's board and a few others but right now the options to enjoy surfing are almost limitless. I sure can remember some difficult conditions and I bet not a single surfer out there hasn't said to themselves, "If I had a motor I would have caught that." Yeah it's a F ing crowded sport these days, but that's what drove travel and spread the sport around the world. 80 percent of you wouldn't be in the water without innovation.

Basically my invention. While living in Santa Cruz, CA from 2004 until 2015, I noticed a lot of older surfers with shoulder problems from a lifetime of surfing. Being a woodcarver, I laminated and carved a fin with a streamlined nacelle with a small DC motor inside. The motor turned a two bladed feathering propellor that opened and provided thrust when the motor was turned on. When the motor was off, the prop blades folded back to decrease drag. Wires from the DC motor went up through the fin and through a channel in the top of the board to a waterproof on/off switch and a small group of NICAD batteries. The on/off switch was located near where you would place your hands when popping up to stand. When the wave was under you, you paddled and hit the switch for a short burst of thrust enabling you to catch the wave. I tested it at Cowell's in Santa Cruz and it worked very well. I made other prototypes and had patent pending for one year. With a small battery about the size of a pack of cigarettes you could catch about 20 to 30 waves. A later, larger version would be perfect for catching large waves where tow-in jet skis were prohibited. Ken Miller

Hi guys, I’m always happy to see you ride… FYI there’s a new Swiss parawing (Element) with double skin in the tips, supposed to make it more stable. Lot of development will come out…

Would be a HUGE help when paddling against strong currents.

Back in the 1960s I saw an advertisement in a major surfing magazine for a surfboard powered by compressed air. The compressed air drove two flaps that were attached to the sides of the fin. It was a long board.
