From teen heartthrob to sought-after songwriter, Teddy Geiger confronts her truth

In his first year of being nominated, singer Shawn Mendes' song "In My Blood" is up for Song of the Year in the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. It's also the first Grammy nomination for one of his co-writers, former teen-pop-star-turned-producer Teddy Geiger. Geiger has worked with a number of big names, but Mendes remains one of her closest collaborators. Vladimir Duthiers spoke to Geiger about her journey ahead of the Grammy Awards.

It’s so strange that this wasn’t talked about more. Teddy was my heartthrob in middle school. It’s been eye opening to realize I fell for a glimpse of a fake person. Just the way she carries herself now seems so much more confident and pure. ❤️

I was always affected by Teddy as a musician. I think she is even more attractive a person now, then she was back in the early 2000's, because now you see such joy in everything she does. I was crushing on her in 2006 and am still crushing on her now. What a beautiful person 😍

I always loved Teddy's music but wondered what happened, bc I never heard more music. Then i found out about her transition and was so happy for her.
Such a talent that was being hidden when it deserves to in the light. I have no clue what it feels like to go through her journey, but that it finally led to honest happiness for her is so wonderful.
A career well deserving of all the honor possible. Truly love her work.

I'm so happy that Teddy is back in the light, I've missed her and her music. "These Walls" is one of my favorite songs from when I was growing up. I'm SO happy that she still does music and has been supported and loved through her transition, as EVERYONE does!
