37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' was bringing 1 empty PFA wagon from Sellafield to Crewe.
I was just expecting a quick pass, but got more than I bargained for, when the class 37 rolled slowly into view, and slowed even more before coming to a halt, just a few yards before the station and the 4 track section.
With a pendolino coming to a stop behind it, it was about 10 minutes, before the vintage 37, erupted into life again, and managed to limp on to the slow line, and towards Hartford Junction.
An hour later class 68, 68016 'Fearless' arrived from Crewe on 0Z99 to rescue it.It can then be seen ( through all the metal work ) manouervering across the tracks, to couple onto 37401, before heading back to Crewe, 100 minutes after the 37 first arrived at Acton Bridge.

Nice video. It failed at Luton a few days ago so it had to stay in Luton crescent road for a day

Hopefully it keeps running as it’s my favourite 37. Great captures Phil but hope it’s not the last of this loco

Nicely filmed Phil. Shame about fence going up, sure it doesn't need to be that high.

Fence is going up due to that fella the Police went to,
don't you remember 😂
Dont worry about 37401, she's a proper beast, at least it fired back up. Probably stuck in limp home mode. Or, just out of Diesel 😂
